This Holy Week is a time of deep suffering in the Holy Land as a genocide continues to unfold in Gaza. Conscious of this pain and the suffering of other parts of the world, the Patriarchs and Heads of Churches in Jerusalem have released an Easter letter.

The letter is a plea to stop the devastating war in Gaza with an immediate and sustained ceasefire and to enable speedy access to humanitarian aid, as well as other specific calls. The poignant statement speaks especially to those in Gaza, acknowledging their deep suffering while still declaring hope in the Risen Christ.

The full statement is available on the World Council of Churches website.
