Planting First Tree in the Woodland Sanctuary

We will be planting the first tree in the project to rewild a grassy green space/municipal reserve by planting some 180 native trees and shrubs, as well as 700 plants in a natural ecosystem with mown paths and habitat structures as we "live with respect in creation". This area will be known as the Woodland Sanctuary and maintained in partnership with the City of Lacombe. The St. Andrew's Green Team believes that to plant a tree is to plant hope, and provide a carbon sink and habitat, as well as boosting spiritual and mental health by spending time in nature. We also intend this will be an outdoor education space.
