About the project

What did we do?

We launched our table at Smiths Falls Pink Pony Pride Party on June 6, 2025. Our very own Rainbow 101 group and the Outreach and Social Justice team set up the table outside Trinity Church and handed out buttons, flyers, information and talked to everyone who came to visit our table. We have a strong voice in Smiths Falls for being all inclusive. This is just another avenue we have to solidify our commitment to show the love of Jesus to all. On June 20, 2025 Trinity United in Smiths Falls was honoured to partner up with Rainbow 101 to show a locally produced documentary: Lanark County Voices; There's a Place for Me Here. This documentary tells the personal stories of 13 members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. The struggles, the triumphs' and everything in between. Stayed tuned for more exciting adventures with Smiths Falls Trinity United Church.

The afternoon of Sunday, September 21, 2025 was a very special day for Smiths Falls Trinity United Church. As part of our 100 Tables celebration we invited members of the community and first responders to join us for a Dedication Ceremony of Trinity's Labyrinth. This project was a labour of love and is a space where people from all walks of life can come, rest, pray, reflect, gather, and be. We welcome all in the space to find your center and be at peace. There are benches donated in memory of beloved ones and there will be an information "house" to guide you through the process. Please come and be part of Trinity's next 100 years. In addition to the brochures about the Labyrinth, some of our members knitted, crocheted, and sewed small pocket squares with a pocket prayer attached. Each person in attendance chose a square to keep.

Why did we do it?

We are committed to showing the love of Jesus in practical, meaningful ways. Trinity United in Smiths Falls is an Affirming congregation and we strive to show that is many ways. A Place at the Table is just one of the avenues we are Blessed to have.

We chose our September event as one of our 100 Tables celebrations because this Labyrinth is not only for Church members, but for all who want to come rest, reflect, pray, and gather. It truly is for the larger community. What an amazing labour of love this has been.
