Description
The Real Property and Capital Plan Working Group receives and renews applications for real property renovations from the Indigenous Communities of faith with nationally owned properties. The members of the Working Group recognize and hold that this work is a ministry of stewardship. The contributions of volunteers build up the Body of Christ. In this caring for the Body we care for our communities and for each other. We hold dear the Seven Sacred Teachings of love, wisdom, honesty, respect, courage, humility, and truth, and scripture.
Skills:
We are looking for people with knowledge of Indigenous contexts such as land areas, band relationship and winter road access and transportation. Important areas of knowledge include knowledge include building and construction, costs, labour, electrical, maintenance, plumbing, contracts, contracting, and project management.
Membership:
The working group is made up of seven members, including one member of the National Indigenous Council.
Term:
Appointments are for approximately three years, with the possibility of reappointment for a second term. There will be one annual face-to-face meeting of the working group to be held in different locations, and monthly conference calls.
