Deadline for applications is June 28, 2026
Called by God, as disciples of Jesus, The United Church of Canada seeks to be a bold, connected, evolving church of diverse, courageous, hope-filled communities united in deep spirituality, inspiring worship, and daring justice.
The United Church of Canada is a progressive and inclusive denomination with a longstanding commitment to social justice, equity, and full participation for all. The General Secretary will play a critical role in leading the Church through a period of transformation—deepening its commitment to reconciliation, equity, and belonging while ensuring organizational sustainability and vitality for the future.
Even as we work to respond to the changing landscape of our lives, and where the church fits in, there are processes that continue. One of those is the search for the individual who will take on the ministry of General Secretary of The United Church of Canada when our current General Secretary, Michael Blair, retires in the fall of 2026.
Go to the Knightsbridge website for more details on this position. Applications will be accepted until June 28, 2026, at which time the process of review, short-listing, and interview will begin.
We hope that you will share this invitation to apply with individuals you believe have the gifts that would make them a good candidate for this role—one that is important to the administration and life of our denomination.
