Today, the National Indigenous Spiritual Gathering brings together members of Indigenous communities of faith into one sacred space on traditional Algonquin Territory.

Held July 15–19 at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, the triennial gathering of the Indigenous Church opened this morning with the lighting of the Sacred Fire, tended by the Miitig Healing Lodge Firekeepers, and concludes with worship and celebration on Sunday, July 19.

Please pray for the gathering—for those who travel, and for the continuing path to healing, Reconciliation, and autonomy. Specifically, pray for leaders of the National Indigenous Elders’ Council as they covenant with a new National Indigenous Council to lead the Indigenous Church closer to self-determination.

May Creator’s Spirit pour out upon the leaders and participants who have gathered, and upon those who attend with hearts and minds eager to help. Lift up your prayers so that they may receive Creator’s blessing.
