May 17th is the annual observation of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). This year, under the theme of "The Power of Communities", we unite to denounce and resist the growing tide of hatred and discrimination, and to also give thanks for the Spirit-led victories where love is embraced, hard-won policy changes, bold acts of resistance, and the co-creation of a world where all can flourish.
This IDAHOBIT 2025, we invite you to take action by joining our Love, Faith, and Bold Action letter-writing campaign and urge your Member of Parliament to make sure that the Government of Canada upholds and advances the rights of gender-diverse, Two-Spirit, and LGBTQIA+ people at home and globally.
We invite you to join in solidarity with The United Church of Canada, 2S and LGBTQIA+ communities in Canada and around the world, and global movements for human rights, as we gather with courage and clarity to affirm human dignity for all. We proclaim the non-negotiable truth of every person’s sacred worth, and welcome people of all backgrounds, identities and experiences.
