Global and ecumenical partners accompany the 45th General Council

Marking a century of The United Church of Canada, and living into the church’s partnership commitment, the church’s global and ecumenical partners are accompanying the 45th General Council, which opens online on Sunday, June 22 at 4 pm. Among those joining as corresponding members are global partners from all four regions of The United Church of Canada global partnership program: the Middle East, the African continent, Asia, and the Caribbean and Latin America.
Also joining as corresponding members are Canadian and Global ecumenical partners from the Anglican Church of Canada, Presbyterian Church in Canada, Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, the Canadian Council of Churches, the World Council of Churches, and the World Communion of Reformed Churches.
Commissioners will also gather with interfaith partners, elders, Youth Forum members, past moderators, equity, facilitation, and technical support teams, as well as visitors, as participants in the livestreamed session. A detailed schedule for the session can be viewed on the General Council website.
A learning and discussion session will take place next Saturday, June 28 at 11 am, in preparation for a shortened General Council, which will be held online and in person at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre, 120 9th Ave. SE, Calgary, Alberta, from August 7–11.
