Injustice is not a separate reality confined to an isolated part of the world. Justice is interconnected, and what affects one community ultimately affects us all. While it is easy for Canadians to live in relative comfort, there remains a deep yearning to build a more peaceful and just world.

Join us for a gathering in solidarity with Philippine, Korean, and Canadian advocates for human rights, dignity, and justice.

Featured Speakers

Tinay Palabay, Secretary General, KARAPATAN, will address laws and policies that target journalists, human rights lawyers, peasants, and activists through practices such as red-tagging, the freezing of bank accounts, and extrajudicial killings in the Philippines.

Mervin Torquero, Deputy General Secretary, National Council of Churches in the Philippines, will further develop these themes and discuss initiatives such as the Pax Silica program and the Indo-Pacific Strategy, examining their impact on the land, communities, and people of the Philippines.

Rev. Jinwoo Jeong, of Seoul Diaspora Church and a board member of ICHRP, will address the rise of far-right Christianity in South Korea and its implications for human rights, democracy, and social justice.

Rachel Warden, KAIROS Canada to provide Canadian perspectives on justice and advocacy work.
