What did you do?
Our Property Brothers laid a patio and built the picnic table on the front lawn of Trinity United Church. We had an Appreciation Luncheon to celebrate the completion of our accessibility washroom. Our Organic Harmony and Uke Group entertainment is from our picnic table!
Rev. Bob Root included the dedication of our community picnic table in our church service on Sunday, October 26th. After the service our congregation gathered outside around the table for a dedication prayer lead by Rev. Bob followed by a time of fellowship, refreshments, and treats in Trinity Hall.
Rev. Walter Murray, our retired Senior Minister, composed a song entitled “Our New Table.” It is written to be sung to the tune of St. Denim. On Sunday, December 7th, the second Sunday of Advent, we celebrated Peace Sunday, White Gift Sunday, and the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Everyone is welcome at the table, so we thought it was appropriate to sing “Our Table Song”. We wanted to show that our 100 Table project is another example that there is a place for you at our table.
Why did you do it?
We had an Appreciation Luncheon to celebrate the completion of our Accessible Washroom. We also installed accessible front doors which provide total accessibility on our main floor. Now we can fully support the many community groups who use our facilities and value their partnership with Trinity United Church.
