What did you do?
At St. Paul's, we painted our table with chalboard paint, and invited our youth to decorate it for our annual take-out Strawberry Supper. They decorated with a "Fruit of the Spirit" theme! The July Strawberry Supper was a soft-launch for our table, but we are planning a back-to-Sunday-School BBQ for September, in which we hope to properly celebrate it as a new part of our landscape!
Why did you do it?
We wanted to invite folks doing take-out suppers to stay awhile and eat together, rather than just going home. This event was our soft-launch, but we are looking at some congregational BBQ's, and stepping up the "gathering" aspect of our Strawberry Supper for next year, hopefully with a focus on youth & young families.
