Orleans United Church is thrilled to launch our participation in the United Church of Canada’s 100 Tables project! Our gifted table now sits proudly on the front lawn beneath a shady tree—a perfect rest stop for the many people who pass by each day. To extend the spirit of hospitality and inclusion, we’ve also added a Little Library beside it, filled with books that reflect the United Church’s values of diversity, compassion, and welcome. Stocked with selections for all ages and interests, the library invites neighbours to take a book, share a book, and linger a while. Whether it's a moment of quiet reading, a snack break, or a spontaneous staff meeting (yes, it's already happened!), the table has quickly become a gathering spot. While weather got in the way of our outdoor worship service, we look forward to hosting a community concert at the table this fall. This is more than a table—it’s a place of connection, reflection, and community right on our front lawn.
