What We're Doing
The sun was shining, the faces were smiling, the mind engrossed with facts on food security, the tastebuds teased from an abundance of food, and finally the toes were tapping. This was September 26th at Coombs United Church!
Our commuinity came together for a potluck dinner (of locally sourced dishes) and then listened to a guest speaker sharing the plight of local farmers and providing information on food security. Following that, entertainment was provided by The Coombs Old Time Fiddlers.
To think that this all started because of a picnic table! We have taken this a step further, and picnic table number two will be completed in the spring. We give thanks for this initiative where we could be creative, we could celebrate, and cherish our community!
