Description

UPRC is currently seeking a highly motivated individual, with a passion for real estate development, to join our team as Development Financial Analyst. Located in Toronto, Canada, the position will provide financial analytical support and coordinate the documentation requirement for construction financing. Our ideal candidate will plan an instrumental role in supporting UPRC’s financing program. Qualified candidates will undergo an extensive evaluation process that will include interviews with individuals from UPRC. In addition, comprehensive references, background, and due diligence (credit, criminal and education) will be undertaken with the finalist candidates. Assessments my also be included as part of the selection process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and present market research and due diligence related to the development opportunity.
  • Work with the investment team to develop and prepare financial models and underwriting.
  • Completion and monitoring of financial modelling for development opportunities and the preparation of information needed for internal approvals and reporting.
  • Create and manage a central location for project information.
  • Monitor due diligence and design changes throughout the development process and ensure that models are up to date, on budget and on time.
  • Prepare monthly investor compliance dashboard and reporting.
  • Other ad-hoc projects.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in finance, business administration, accounting or related field
  • Pursuing a professional designation (CFA, CPA).
  • 2-5 years of real estate investment analysis experience is preferred.
  • Superior financial modelling and Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Sound analytical and quantitative skills, rigorous attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic, willing to go extra mile to complete tasks to highest standard.
  • A team player who can also work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, listening skills and organizational skills;
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow written and verbal instructions;
  • Self motivated, ability to work under pressure and handle change positively;
  • Self-motivated and pro-active, with respect to both managing workload and professional development.
  • Nice to have:
    • Basic understanding and ability to interpret architectural drawings.
    • Experience with third party project management and financial tools

 

Compensation

All successful candidates will be paid a competitive compensation package, commensurate with the level, status, and responsibilities of the role. This includes a base salary, annual performance bonus and benefits.
