Are you an Indigenous-led organization or an Indigenous leadership? Are there ideas or new initiatives you are interested in getting off the ground and seeing what happens?
Embracing the Spirit is committed to encouraging Indigenous-led initiatives across Turtle Island. All grant applications are reviewed with an equity lens. The committee will consider the principles, norms, and standards of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, the Calls to the Church, and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action.
Indigenous Initiatives Seed Funding is from $500 to $10,000.
Note: Organizations are still eligible for Growth Grants upon receiving this seed funding.
- Referred by the Justice and Reconciliation Fund Committee or the Healing Fund Council. This includes applications that do not fit the criteria of the Healing Fund or other Indigenous specific grants but that do align with the Embracing the Spirit guidelines.
- Indigenous-led initiatives that are from communities of faith.
- Indigenous-led initiatives that are from Indigenous-led organizations.
